Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
The short version
Your advance directive is private. We encrypt it. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. Only people you invite can see your documents.
What we collect
- Your email address (for sign-in)
- Your name (so the people you invite know who is sharing)
- Documents you choose to upload (advance directive, living will, POLST, HIPAA release)
- Basic app usage data (to find and fix bugs)
How we use what we collect
We use it to run the app. That is it. We never sell it. We never share it with third-party advertisers. We do not send your data to data brokers.
How your documents are stored
Documents are encrypted at rest and in transit. Only you and the people you invite can see them. We use industry-standard cloud storage with row-level security.
Sharing
You choose who can see your documents. When you invite a family member or caregiver, they get read-only access. You can remove their access at any time from the app.
Your rights
You can delete your account and all your documents at any time. Email support@directivevault.com to request a copy of your data or to delete it.
Children
DirectiveVault is for adults only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we make changes to this policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top and notify active users by email for any material change.
